Very often a transaction's occurance depends on an openness by the presenter to take the time to even begin to show a potential client what is available and how it may be useful to the client or an openness on the part of the potential client to be inquisitive enough to listen and explore the potential uses and value of the product or service that the presenter has to offer -

On such thinly held together instances do such great potential transactions very often hinge -

If there is a way to guarantee a more reasonably definite way of allowing people to take a more detailed look at both what they have to present and what other's have to present then the entire system of business may have a better chance of thriving on an even more deeper level than already exists at the present moment!

Does it really matter how fast business is conducted at?

I believe the only really important questions which can be asked is whether business is being conducted -

The truth about business is that it happens at the speed of whatever I desire to conduct it at -

Perhaps to have you better understand this I will say that as soon as I step outside my door, and perhaps sometimes before that when I send out an envelpe by mail, and a person receives one of my business cards either handed to them (or in the case of the letter they receive the card in an envelope), I consider a transaction as having taken place, and since this happens pretty much whenever and wherever I chose to give out my cards or to send them out in an envelope, then I am in control as to the speed at which these above mentioned transactions take place.

On the Internet, however, I do acknowledge that the individual visitors to my web sites are more or less in control themselves as to the speed at which they are exposed both to my "Self Portrait" which is the main feature of my business card and to my images which are shown throughout the various web sites.

In these events, the transactions are able to be conducted with so much more speed and consistency than I am or would ever be able to continue to conduct them by myself.

By totally giving up the control and the capability of transacting the business myself, I leave open the possibility of transacting a much greater amount of business as well as doing so at a so much greater pace than ever before possible!

The addition of a site meter might be helpful and at the same time it just may provide some useless information -

Do you know one of the most powerful words in any language?

-it stops people from communicating

-it makes it harder to get a person the medical attention that they may need fast enough to save their lives

-it can hinder the progress of the entire human race if the answer to a particular research project does not get the funding that is needed to make the next quantum leap in whatever breakthroughs that are being worked on

-it is make up of only two letters in the English language

-it is often used as a reply to a question as to whether a person is ready to buy a product or service at a particular time and stops the necessary acquisition altogether simply because it is utilized at an improper time when the meaning of what was really trying to be said was "not yet"

-this word might better be used more cautiously and less frequently than it is so often flung out at others in the world -

-please think about the effects on everything that you are about to do before you utilize that simplest of words

-NO

-it is really the opposite of the word ON

And so here is the thing -

If I make my product so perfect in every way compared to any other before it and prove it so by having the customer partake in it's creation, and, if I make this product so inexepensive (perhaps I will explore the meaning(s) of this word later on sometime) that it seems as if the customer is paying nowhere near what this product is really worth, then I have made something that the customer is not only so proud to own but is also so happy to pay for that he or she will almost want to pay more than what I have asked as a fair price for what we both have created.

I do not know of many individuals or many companies producing their product or service in such a way as this. but those that have, that do, or that will, will have no problem when it comes to securing constant and abundant business for themselves.

Mother nature, for example is one of these producers, when you think about those fruits on the trees, or the vegetables in the gardens or those livestock that feed so many human beings. And of course her price is so unbearably low.

A catchy slogan - a cute phrase, an insiteful group of ideas - will any one or all of these encourage, force or trick a person or persons into buying a certain product or one serivce over another?

Will we ever really know why any one person buys, purchases, or is sold on acquiring a product or service at any moment in time?

I think not - rather at least allowing the potential customer to know that we exist and are offering such a product or service through one means or another and having made as much information as possible available for this decision to be made is the most that we can ever do.

I got an idea just a few minutes ago - I looked something up on the Internet - related to that idea and I made a discovery that I would have never been aware of any other way - In many ways the tool and tools that we have now make it unbelievably fantastic to make quantum leaps in many directions!

Persistence -

The idea behind someone being in your target market or
not seems
fine from one perspective, but do you remember the
Beatles, and if you do - do you remember when was the
first time that you heard their music?

I do - back in the 60's and I believe that the first
time I heard some of their songs I did not like them -
not that much, but then sooner or later they turned up
on the Ed Sullivan show, and hearing them with
thousands of screaming girls in the background changed
my listening capacity for what they were playing, and
then they came to Forest Hills for their first live
concert in the U.S. where they were flown in by
helicopter, and my Friend bought a whole row of seats
6 rows away from them and gave me my ticket free!

I went of course and will never forget the deafening
screams, the pink hair rollers the girls were throwing
down with their phone numbers and love letters stuck
in them and then there was the girl who was sitting
next to me, who when the Beatles got on stage and the
crowd jumped up with unbounded energy and I stood up
with all of the others around me, all of us standing
on the chairs, this girl, this complete stranger threw
her arms around me, I was thirteen at the time and too
embarrassed to remember anything else, but from that
time on at least I was intent on learning what those
words and music were saying to the people there and
around the world and how I could tap into the
"electric juice" as I thought of it, that electrified
my entire world eventually, because I saw that even my
father, who at one time did not like that Beatle Music
stuff, eventually when it was toned down for his ears
as able to listen to it in a jazzed up way and maybe
some of it in it's original raw state as well.

So in reality, nobody in the beginning is part of
anyone's "market" until and unless they are exposed to
whatever it is that is being presented and
persistently enough, along with enough energy
enthusiasm and pier reinforcement so that they soon
become willing at least to listen to what is
happening with the girl next door! And then the music
become part of them!!!

This if course is my opinion, but even one of the
Rockefeller's has a quote right their in Rockefeller
Center about persistence being the most important key
to success - so I certainly hope eventually that you
become one of my fans:

I have come to the conclusion this morning that for myself and my business I have been going much much much too fast for any real enjoyment to be taking place and so to compensate I will be going at a much much slower pace in order to enjoy the things that are in store for me in my life now the way that I have set it up.

I can see that things that I do and places that I go and people that I spend time with are and will all be much more enjoyable now that I have chosen to change my perception of time.

The speed of business may be much better off by being slowed down or perhaps made to exist in a time warp where time and motion are practically non-existent.

Want to really have fun in business - Imagine that everyone that you know and meet or even see during your waking hours is a potential customer - and sooner or later this begins to become a "reality" - not just once in a while - but every day along the way in people's lives they will begin to see the way in which they can utilize your services and actually begin to help you in turning themselves into your customers -

Imagine you are the founders of Proctor and Gamble - 165 years ago - you are making let's say a web site and you have no idea that this entity that you are creating - something that many other companies in your area or that you know of are doing at the same time and you are operating in what looks like pretty much the same way as they are -

Maybe what you have created looks in many ways even inferior to some extent.

Is your main focus on doing something radically different to make yourself stand out and grow tremendously large and become the giant that you will become or are you focused on doing your best for the clients that you have now and allowing your business to grow at a reasonable pace so that you have a reasonable chance of staying in business and passing what you have created onto your next generation -

Great legendary companies do not always seem to be any different than their peers at least when they are in their beginning stages - and sometimes they even look pretty much like failures in many ways -

So how can we say that one company is greater or has any more potential than another ? -

The value of a friendly chat to inspire some interest in a thing or an idea is unimagineable especially if it is then followed with a gentle question planting the idea for the listener to try the previously talked about subject of the conversation themselves - this can produce amazing results -

Did you ever feel that you would rather spend your money on a gift for a family member or a friend?

As with you - so with others - !

Many people that I have come across tend to prefer to spend their money on gifts for others and hold off their purchase when it comes to buying something for themselves -

If this is true for everyone (and sometimes I suspect it is more of the time than not) then presenting more of what you have to offer whether it be a product or a service or both would probably do a great deal towards boosting sales.

Sunday, January 02, 2005

I am looking at the relationship between the creation of a thing and it's purchase - since there is a great deal of ability needed to sell something to someone that has not been created yet - just why would anyone who can do that bother to try and sell anything that has been made already and therefore at that point has no chance of being improved upon before the actual sale is made?
